Peter Brotherhood Scores A Hat Trick In South Africa

10 October 2005 10:15

Peterborough, UK-based specialist engineering company Peter Brotherhood Ltd has secured a lucrative €1 million reciprocating gas compressor order for installation in South Africa – the third such order this year.

The contract for Sapref / Fluor Daniel BV based in The Netherlands follows orders for similar machines placed by Natref / Fluor South Africa in March and Caltex Oil / Foster Wheeler South Africa in April. The compressor systems have all been ordered to help the companies meet the 2006 requirements for reduced sulphur content in fuel.

Peter Brotherhood will design and manufacture the compressor systems to American Petroleum Industry standard 618 (API 618) and specific Sapref / Shell specifications. The equipment will be delivered to the Sapref (Shell and BP) refinery in Durban at the end of the year.

The two throw, single stage machines will each be supplied with a drive motor, oil system, pulsation vessels and local instrumentation. A separate water console will also be provided and uploaders will be fitted to the compressor for capacity control. The compressors will serve the hydrogen feed system of an isomerisation unit.

Peter Brotherhood won the order because of its proven track record in designing, manufacturing and supporting gas compressor systems worldwide.
