Peter Brotherhood Wins New Order From Shell
11 October 2002 11:14
Peter Brotherhood Ltd, the Peterborough UK-based specialist engineering company, has secured a £600,000 order to supply a compressor system to Shell UK Limited.
Shell UK Limited is the operator of the Goldeneye gas condensate development on behalf of Goldeneye Co-Venturers for the onshore processing facility at St Fergus in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Foster Wheeler Energy Limited, the onshore engineering, procurement and construction contractor on this project, placed the order with Peter Brotherhood.
The compressor system will be used to raise the pressure of a natural gas feed to line pressure following a drying process.
Gas fed from offshore will pass into a receiving terminal where it will be dried to remove moisture, a process which lowers the pressure of the feed. The regeneration compressor system designed by Peter Brotherhood will be used to compress the gas up to line pressure.
The compressor will be produced to American Petroleum Industry standard 618 (API618) and specific Shell specifications. It will have a suction pressure of 82.3 bar and will discharge at 88.6 bar.
The system is due for delivery in April 2003 and will be supplied mounted on a skid. It will include a 132 kW drive motor, vertical pulsation vessels, local gauge board, safe area control panel and a Bentley Nevada 3300 monitoring system.
Peter Brotherhood has been supplying compressor systems to Shell UK Exploration & Production for over 30 years, in both on and offshore applications. It won the contract because of its ability to meet the project’s technical requirements and deliver the compressor system on time and within budget.
