Peter Brotherhood Secures Swedish Compressor Contract

Peterborough, UK-based engineering company Peter Brotherhood Ltd has secured a reciprocating gas compressor contract from Nynas Refining AB. The system will be supplied to a refinery owned by Nynas Refining AB based in Nynashamn, Sweden.
Peter Brotherhood will design, manufacture, install and commission the compressor system as part of the HT2 reconstruction project. The skid mounted hydrogen recycle compressor will be supplied with a lube oil service, a thermosyphon cooling system, a motor, pulsation dampeners and wiring and delivered to site in March 2006.
Nynas appointed engineering company FB Engineering to oversee the procurement and installation of the project. Peter Brotherhood has supplied Nynas with reciprocating compressors in the past, some of which are thirty-two years old. Nynas has been pleased with the reliability and quality of the equipment supplied.
Peter Brotherhood won the order against strong international competition because of its proven track record in designing, manufacturing and supporting gas compressors.
Allan March, technical support manager for compressor sales at Peter Brotherhood said: "We are delighted to have secured this latest order from Nynas. Nynas is an existing customer and the first compressors we supplied to them in 1973 are still working today. This is a good testament to the quality and craftsmanship of our products."
Peter Brotherhood designs, manufactures, installs and commissions API 618 reciprocating gas compressors as complete packages incorporating the prime mover, gas processing plant, instrumentation and controls. The company specialises in supplying equipment for onshore and offshore applications including refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing plants and FPSO vessels.
Steam turbines, packaged CHP systems, specialist gearboxes and special purpose machinery are also designed and manufactured by Peter Brotherhood Ltd. The company was established in 1867 and has supplied equipment to more than 100 countries around the world.
