A&E Group - Offshore Anti-Corrosion, Splash Zone and Underwater Coatings and Pipeline Joint Protection

A&E Group specializes in providing solutions for corrosion problems in difficult areas. Its environmentally friendly Enviropeel and Alocit coating systems provide a unique range of abilities. The Group also provides a range of project and asset-maintenance services associated with the use and application of its products.

Enviropeel, a sprayable and re-usable thermoplastic barrier coating system, is revolutionizing approaches to corrosion protection in complex bolted systems such as flanges and valves with its ‘whole-system’ approach. Alocit systems, a range of two-pack, zero-VOC, epoxy coatings, are well known for their ease of use and durability.

Thermoplastic anti-corrosion coating

Enviropeel uses a corrosion-inhibiting thermoplastic in a revolutionary new sprayable barrier coating system that can be applied to objects of any size or shape. It forms a tough, flexible plastic protective skin, which has the proven ability to withstand years of exposure in harsh environments.

Slow-releasing, deep-penetrating corrosion inhibitors provide both active and passive protection against atmospheric and galvanic corrosion, especially in hot-spot areas like flanges, valves and risers. Features of Enviropeel include the following:

  • Apply on-site, to protect large and complex assemblies
  • Zone-2 equipment for use offshore and in potentially hazardous areas
  • Provides a reactive solution with long-term proactive results
  • Minimal surface-preparation required
  • Contains built-in corrosion inhibitors
  • Encapsulates and protects complete flange or assembly, preventing ingress of moisture and contamination
  • No waste – removed material can be re-used
  • Recyclable and environmentally safe
  • Easy to apply, remove and re-apply

Enviropeel can also be used for standby and stored equipment, stacking, transit protection and mothballing, peels off easily for access or re-commissioning, and is completely re-usable.

High-performance anti-corrosion coatings

Alocit coatings are specifically engineered to maximise adhesion in the most challenging conditions, adhering strongly even when applied underwater, in splash zones, or on to damp, sweating or oily steel and concrete – no matter what the weather.

Alocit coatings have a record of successful applications going back over 30 years. Case histories and testimonials show that coatings applied in 1968 are still intact in the 21st century, despite a lifetime of exposure to aggressive waste products.

Solvent-free anti-corrosion coatings

The solvent-free Alocit 28 series has an excellent track record for durability, corrosion protection and ease of use – with no heavy metals and none of the environmental hazards from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are created by solvent-based products. The coatings provide outstanding adhesion on the following:

  • Sweating pipes – paint directly onto wet surfaces
  • Marine structures, above and below water
  • Water-jetted surfaces
  • Steel and concrete
  • Oily and damp substrates
  • Steel and concrete piles
  • Freshly-cured concrete – no need to wait for it to dry
  • Contaminated floors and structures
