RSI SIMCON

RSI SIMCON - Engineering and Operator Training Dynamic Simulation

RSI SIMCON is a unique combination of skill and expertise in dynamic-simulation solutions for engineering and operator training. RSI SIMCON has provided more than 300 full-scope high-fidelity dynamic simulators, which have been either our Operator Training Simulators (OTSs), or our Detailed Engineering Simulators (DESs).

RSI SIMCON has a continuous commitment to provide solutions to a wide range of processes, including:

  • Oil and gas: multiphase flow sea lines, FPSO, offshore loading and on-shore process facilities
  • LNG supply chain: tankers, LNG terminals and pipeline transportation for liquefaction plants
  • Coal liquefaction
  • Energy, water and environment processing
  • Refining: gas processing, naphtha and middle distillates, conversion of residues and heavy feeds, and olefins and aromatics
  • Petrochemicals: steam crackers, LDPE, HDPE, EO, EG, methanol and urea

RSI SIMCON is a team of 100 highly-skilled simulation engineers solely dedicated to simulation, ideally located, on three continents (Europe, America, and Asia), to provide support and consultancy to worldwide projects.

RSI SIMCON has a high level of investment in research and development in scientific disciplines, such as chemical engineering, fluid mechanics, process modelling, process control, thermodynamics, applied mathematics and information technology.

OPERATOR TRAINING SIMULATOR (OTS)

The Operator Training Simulator (OTS) is an unmatched tool designed to provide both new and experienced operators with the opportunity to Get Improve Maintain Expertise (GIMEx loop).

OTSs provide a bank of continuously-updated process experience, and are therefore consistently used as an experience-sharing support, as well as a powerful process-investigation tool.

OTSs are the only tools that support efficient training, plant performance and plant safety.

DETAILED ENGINEERING SIMULATOR (DES)

Detailed Engineering Simulators (DESs) are first-class engineering tools for the development and validation of innovative operating strategies. Detailed engineering simulators are especially useful for harsh and / or transient conditions, start-up and shutdown procedures, and safety systems such as HAZOP and HIPPS.

Typical benefits of detailed engineering simulators include:

  • Validation and improvement of process dynamics
  • Validation and improvement of plant safety
  • Validation and improvement of operability and controllability
  • Anticipation and analysis of operational issues, using a comprehensive analysis of the integrated process of multiphase sea lines with process facilities.

DESs can integrate the full extent of the production facilities and the plant life cycle of both offshore and onshore production fields, from detailed engineering up to the first production drop.
