Based in Baroda, India, Newton Engineering and Chemicals Ltd is a leading player in construction, manufacturing and chemical sectors. Established in 1979, Newton Engineering and Chemicals Ltd is growing steadily and constantly by offering unmatched quality services to carve a niche for itself in the market. The company offers services in specialised areas such as pressure vessels, distillation columns, heat exchangers (shell and tube), windmill tower (steel tubular), plant piping (unit / offsite / cross-country), site fabricated storage tanks (floating roof / cone roof) and equipment erection services. Newton Engineering and Chemicals Ltd has three divisions – construction division, manufacturing division and chemical division. The manufacturing division is engaged in manufacturing unit operating equipment like heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tall columns and various other fabricated items. This division is accredited with ISO 9002 certificate by KPMG. HEAT EXCHANGERS (SHELL AND TUBE)The heat exchangers transfer heat between mediums. The fluids or gases in the heat exchangers can be mixed. In the heat exchanges, the energy transference can go through a conductive wall that keeps them separate. Commercial heat exchangers are extensively used in furnaces, refrigerators, car radiators and chemical processing systems. Various types of heat exchanges include plate heat exchangers, tube heat exchangers and regenerative heat exchangers. Heat exchangers are widely used in products such as refrigerators, fuel cells, chemical reactors and automobiles. The technology of heat exchangers is basic in concept but involves complex designs as per the requirements. FLOATING ROOF AND FIXED ROOF TANKSNewton Engineering and Chemicals Ltd has developed expertise and earned goodwill in executing onsite fabricated tanks for Indian and global majors. The company has successfully executed different types of tanks including floating roof, fixed roof and cone roof tanks. The company has established a fabricated tank for IOC at Tundla in India. The company has executed right from the design and engineering to fabrication, erection, testing and commissioning of floating roof tank projects. It has commissioned over eight floating roof tanks in addition to a couple of cone roof and fixed roof plants in the recent past. PLANT PIPING (UNIT / OFFSITE / CROSS-COUNTRY)The major projects under the plant piping section include fabrication and erection of plant piping and equipment erection work offsite for Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd, Mangalore, India, in 1998. Newton Engineering and Chemicals Ltd also completed another major project involving fabrication, erection, inspection, testing and commissioning of plant piping as well as erection of equipment and machineries for TDI plant for Narmada Chematur Petrochemicals Ltd, Bharuch, Gujarat, in India in 1996. Newton undertakes all aspects of plant piping systems operation, maintenance, repairs, alterations and rerating. It has successfully implemented reliable, cost-effective and high-integrity plant piping systems. Another major project included supply and erection of plant piping and instrumentation for NGL / naphtha handling facilities at Thal for Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilisers Ltd in 1996. Over time, Newton Engineering and Chemicals Ltd has gained rich experience in trouble shooting and improving the plant piping systems. The company has handled a number of major projects implementing plant piping systems for IOC and Mangalore Petrochemicals and Refinery Ltd. DISTILLATION COLUMNSNewton Engineering and Chemicals Ltd has supplied distillation columns for major clients such as Reliance and Rallis India. Distillation columns are extensively used as thermal separation units. The operation of distillation columns is based on the difference between boiling temperatures of the liquid mixture components and recycling counter-current gas-liquid flow. The optimally organized temperature distribution up the distillation columns results in different mixture compositions at different heights. For all types of distillation columns, multi-component inter-phase mass transfer is a common phenomenon, but the flow regimes are very different depending on the internal elements used.
