Advanced Sensors - Oil-In-Water Analyzers, Monitors and Leak Detection Systems

Advanced Sensors, a leading technology-based company in the UK, provides instrumentation, detection systems and communication solutions for the oil and gas industries. The company was formed in 2005 and has produced the OIW-EX series range of oil-in-water analyzers to fulfil the hydrocarbon market’s need for zero-maintenance oil-in-water analyzers.

Specializing in optoelectronic instrumentation, detection systems and communication technologies, Advanced Sensors continues to invest in the development of innovative products for our customers. We are committed to providing accurate and timely results, deliverable anywhere in the world while operating in harsh conditions.

Reliable oil-in-water analyzers

The revolutionary OIW-EX analyzers are the only zero-maintenance, reliable oil-in-water analyzers available in the world. The OIW-EX products detect oil concentrations from low ppb to 20,000ppm. Measured values are recorded every second in the 'data logs' and displayed graphically and numerically on the instruments display.

Oil-in-water monitors for hazardous environments

The maintenance-free OIW-EX series of oil-in-water monitors are designed to operate in hazardous environments and provide consistent, accurate and uninterrupted measurements. The unit's dynamic self-cleaning capabilities eradicate the need for maintenance.

Using ultrasonic technology, our products provide a consistently reliable measurement environment. This negates the need for flow mechanisms, mechanical mixers, chemical additives or human intervention.

Explosion-protected oil-in-water analyzers and monitors

The OIW-EX series of oil-in-water analyzers and monitors are housed in an Exd ATEX-certified enclosure, meaning that they are ready to use straight out of the box, with no purged air required.

The simple easy-to-use interface and clear uncomplicated display facilitates simple configuration and use of the instrument. Configurations are easily selected using drop-down menu bars and the current status of the measurement cycle is clearly displayed as it steps through the chosen configuration.

Operating system for detection systems, analyzers and oil-in-water monitors

Each of Advanced Sensors’ detection systems, analyzers and oil-in-water monitors are compatible with the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system. Our units’ data logging capacity captures ten years of:

  • PPM measurements
  • Water sample temperatures
  • System diagnostic information
  • Full scan optical spectrum of samples (OIW-EX1000 model only)

Our user-friendly oil-in-water monitors boast an intuitive interface with clear and uncomplicated display facilities. Our analyzers and detection systems can be configured using drop-down menus with the measurement cycle clearly displayed.

Remote oil-in-water analysis

When OIW-EX oil-in-water analysis units are networked to the internet, remote access, control and diagnostics is possible anywhere in the world, allowing multi-site monitoring of all OIW-EX units. Networking provides simultaneous visibility of measurements from multiple OIW-EX units dispersed throughout the network.

Online optical spectrometer

The EX1000 oil-in-water monitor has an inbuilt optical spectrum analyzer that allows for enhanced analysis of produced water. The unique additional layer of analysis that the spectrometer provides sets a new standard of capability providing information that was previously thought unattainable, empowering process engineers with a far greater insight of process dynamics resulting in improved process management.

The EX100/1000 oil-in-water monitor can store thousands of different oil type characteristics for measurement as the optics are designed to be tolerant to various oil types. The EX1000’s spectrometer capability ensures oil type variation can be accurately monitored and accommodated.

Maintenance-free oil-in-water monitors

For decades, optical oil-in-water monitors have been plagued with fouling of sensors, flow rate variation, pressure variation and clogging pipework. The EX100 and Ex1000 oil-in-water monitors from Advanced Sensors are designed to be flow and pressure tolerant, the large pipework is not susceptible to slug clogging and the measurement chamber is automatically cleaned ultrasonically.

Oil-in-water analysis software suite

Advanced Sensors’ software suite includes SpAn, which simplifies the analysis of multiple optical scans simultaneously. The scans are archived as part of the data-logging feature, capturing accurately the time and reason for the spectrum scan.

In addition, the suite includes LogView for the OIW-EX product range. LogView has been designed to quickly and easily display the data logs with just a few clicks of the mouse. LogView facilitates the analysis of multiple data logs via colour-coded displays for comparison.

Leak detection systems

Advanced Sensors’ FluoroTrak fluorescein leak detection systems host an unprecedented list of features for equipment of this type. The key features are as follows:

  • Remote operation - up to 5m from the pipeline
  • Reliable detection - wide swath provides large scan area
  • Highly sensitive for the rapid, early detection of small leaks
  • Handheld operation - compact and lightweight
  • User-friendly - MS Windows compatible
  • Data logging – real-time data acquisition and comprehensive data logging of survey data, and detection and status alarms
