Modulift - Modular Spreader Beams, Load Handling and Heavy Lifting Equipment

Modulift modular spreader beams bring you the ultimate in flexibility and value. The Modulift system is a range of modular spreader beams that are made up of several components bolted together to make a single beam of any size.

The versatility and range of spans you can lift can be limitless; simply build your stock so that you have a selection of sizes to deal with lifts from 0.2m to a 53m span and from 2t to 5,000t.

Load handling equipment

The system enables safe, efficient and cost effective load handling for any application in any industry sector. Modulift can be used for all material handling applications. Modulift has sales and rental customers in many industries, including:

  • Offshore
  • Oil and gas
  • Industrial
  • Construction
  • Maritime
  • Aerospace

All utilise the modular system enabling the lifting of various loads, without the need to buy or rent new spreader beams for different jobs.

End units, struts and drop links

Modulift spreader beams comprise three main components: end units, struts and drop links. End units are attached at each end of a strut(s) with bolted joints. The drop links feature two holes and are attached to each end unit using shackles attached to the slings that support the spreader, and are attached at their top end to the hook of a crane. Two further shackles join more slings under the spreader beam, which provide attachment to the load, to the lower hole in the drop link.

DNV-approved spreader beams

Modulift’s DNV-approved system is available in a range of sizes and lifting capacities, for the smallest maintenance work to the largest construction projects. The system’s flexibility is the key reason for its success. One set of Modulift beams can be re-used across multiple size and weight jobs giving you the ultimate in flexibility and value. Traditional spreader beams have to be cut and welded before being modified, which adds further cost and time to a multiple lift project.

Maintenance range of spreader beams

The Mod 2 and Mod 6 are part of the maintenance range - light to handle, the Mod 2 is small enough to fit into a toolbox. This range will lift up to 6t with a span from 0.2m to 2.5m.

Portable range of spreader beams

The Mod 12 are 24 are part of the portable range - components are suitable for manual handling, apart from the longer struts from the Mod 24 and Mod 34, which require two to four people to lift them. This range will lift up to 34t with a span from 0.5m to 8m.

Heavy range of spreader beams

The Mod 34 to Mod 110 are part of the heavy range requiring two or more people when handling. They will lift up to 170t with a span from 1m to 16m.

Super-heavy range of spreader beams

The Mod 250, 400, 600, 800, 1200 and 2000 are part of the super-heavy range. Requiring mechanical assistance to move or lift, they will lift up to 1,600t with a span from 2m to 34m.

The QuickJoint

The QuickJoint is a unique system that uses a ‘plug and socket’ joint arrangement for safe, easy handling and quick assembly of modular spreader beams. QuickJoint beam sections are slid together and locked in place with a pin, negating the need to fasten bolts whilst putting the spreader beam together. QuickJoint is aimed at the light maintenance market and supplied in a carry case for easy transportation.

Multiple spreader rigs

The modular nature of Modulift enables multiple spreader rigs to be produced quickly and economically from standard components, and any lifting job benefits from its flexible, cost-effective nature.
