HOUSTON, October 13, 2006 - Energy Maintenance Services Group I, LLC (EMS Group) announced it has purchased the majority of third party operations and maintenance service contracts from CenterPoint Energy Pipeline Services, Inc. CenterPoint Energy Pipeline Services is an indirect, wholly-owned pipeline services subsidiary of CenterPoint Energy, Inc. (NYSE: CNP).

The service contracts include work for the owners of natural gas, refined products and crude oil pipelines. These services include project services, operations and maintenance services, pipeline integrity services and underground storage services.

"...with the addition of these contracts, EMS will augment our pipeline services and geographic coverage, providing increased value to our broad customer base," said Bill Rome, Vice President and Senior Advisor of the EMS Group.

As of Friday, October 13, 2006, this new group will become known as "EMS Gulf Coast, LLC". "Purchasing these third party contracts will only enhance the EMS business strategy to build on our position as a major provider of integrated O&M services to the energy industry," said Tim Nesler, CEO of the EMS Group.

EMS has made several acquisitions over the past three years. In April of this year, EMS acquired four companies, including Cypress Creek Pipeline Maintenance (Pipeline Rehabilitation and Repairs), AGIS Technology (GIS and GPS Mapping), Celtic Controls and the assets of Energy Services Mexico, providing integrated O&M services in Canada and Mexico respectively.

EMS Group provides a full range of Operations and Maintenance services to more than 200 blue chip energy customers; these include major pipeline operators, local distribution companies (LDCs), and independent power, oil and gas producers. EMS provides these integrated service offerings through six major service lines: Pipeline Management, Pipeline Integrity, Production and Pipeline Projects, Power Services, LNG/Natural Gas Services, and Data Management.
