The Stopaq product range is based on polyisobutene resin technology. This is a visco-elastic resin, i.e. has coldflow properties, which means the resin can appear as a solid if suddenly attacked by a force, or can show liquid properties if slowly agitated. It can be applied to any surface and will adhere, even on vertical surfaces. It doesn't cure, and cold flows to cover even complex shapes or contours.

It is therefore ideally suited as a sealant as it can 'mould' round fittings and penetrate into cavities to plug leaks. The technology is also suited for application to pipelines, and has found major use as a field joint coating.
