Term: Carbon Composite Wraps

Definition:

Carbon composite wraps are thin sheets of carbon fibre weaved with epoxy to produce a strong layer which can be wrapped around pipes to prevent them corroding and prolong their life. When set, the composite wraps can be stronger than steel. Carbon composite wraps are often used on pipelines, and can be applied when the pipes are in service and need no welding.
