Definition:

A power station, also known as a power plant, produces electricity by converting other types of energy – such as chemical or wind – into electrical energy. This is done by using a generator. For instance in a gas power station, gas is burned to produce heat to turn turbines. Types of power stations include nuclear, fossil fuel, renewable and geothermal power stations.
