CB&I Joint Venture Secures Australian LNG Plant Contract

Engineering and construction firm CB&I , through its joint venture with Japan’s Chiyoda and Italy’s oil and gas company Saipem, has been awarded the preparation and supply of the project specification contract from Arrow Energy for its LNG plant project in Australia.

Arrow Energy is a 50 / 50 joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell and PetroChina.

The project includes the construction of the LNG plant, which will initially produce eight million tonnes per year, on Curtis Island, Queensland.

The plant will process, treat and liquefy the coal seam gas supplied from the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland.

Arrow Energy hopes to expand the plant’s capacity to 16 million tonnes per year.
