Petro Matad discovers hydrocarbons at Mongolian well

Petro Matad has encountered hydrocarbons at the Davsan Tolgoi-9 (DT-9) well, which is located on block XX in Mongolia.

The well was drilled to a total depth of 1,766m and penetrated the top of the primary Lower Tsagaantsav objective in the Shoroo prospect where live oil shows were observed.

DT-9 well was designed to test a Lower Tsagaantsav structural closure within Petro Matad’s Shoroo prospect.

The high-porosity sandstone with high calculated hydrocarbon saturation in DT-9 will provide a well-defined test interval for Petro Matad’s ongoing testing programme.

The exploration drilling rig is being relocated from DT-9 to DT-10, which will target a Lower Tsagaantsav primary objective 4.3km south of DT-9.
