Regal Petroleum has begun drilling the E-1 Sagna exploration well in its Barlad concession in Romania.
E-1 Sagna is being drilled on the basis of an expanded network of 2D seismic profiles close to Regal's RBN-4 gas discovery.
The well will further test the regionally productive gas-bearing Sarmatian sandstone reservoirs.
Regal plans to drill the well to about 900m and it will be completed by mid-September 2010.
