North American Oil and Gas completes testing of 77-20 well in Tejon prospect, US

North American Oil and Gas (NAMG) has said it has completed initial production testing at its 77-20 well in the Tejon Extension prospect in the San Joaquin Basin of California, US.

The company drilled the 77-20 well to a total depth of 7,550ft, where full suite of electric logs were run and set 5 1/2in casing, along with its partner East West Petroleum.

NAMG will continue to test zones of interest in the well, and has penetrated a 60ft interval in the Olcese sand, which resulted in an immediate blow of gas.

The well was closed for pressure build up, while swabbing operations indicated some light oil, fluid emulsion and water.

NAMG is now targeting producing sands that are analogous to the nearby Tejon and North Fields, which have produced a combined 58 million barrels of oil and 252 billion cubic feet of gas from the primary zones of interest.

The Tejon Field has produced about 34 million barrels of oil and 19 billion cubic feet of gas, mainly from JV and Olcese sands.

North Tejon Field has produced about 24 million barrels and 233 billion cubic feet of gas, mostly from the Vedder and JV sands1, while oil gravity is 32-35o API.

NAMG will be the operator of the well with 75% participation interest in the Tejon Extension prospect, while Avere Energy, a 100%-owned subsidiary of East West Petroleum, will hold the remaining 25% stake.
