Report: Qatargas signs biggest LNG contract in Q2


Qatargas Operating Company and Royal Dutch Shell signed the biggest long-term LNG contract in this year's second quarter, according to a report by GlobalData.

Titled ‘Q2 2017 Long-Term LNG Contracts Review - Qatar Signs Contract with the UK amid Gulf Boycott’, the report provides an overview of the LNG contracts signed during the second quarter of this year.

The LNG contract between Qatargas Operating Company and Royal Dutch Shell will require the former to supply 1.1 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG from the Qatargas IV terminal in Qatar to the Dragon Gate Terminal in the UK between 2019 and 2024.

"ExxonMobil signed the second biggest contract during the quarter with PT Pertamina for the supply of 1mtpa of LNG for a period of 20 years between 2025 and 2045."

The third biggest contract signed during the quarter was between Eni Spa and Pakistan LNG Terminals for the supply of 0.7mtpa of LNG from the Badak terminal in Indonesia, to the Port Qasim Floating II terminal in Pakistan for a period of 15 years between 2017 and 2032.
