Wood Group signs onshore agreement extension with Saudi Aramco

Scottish oil and gas company Wood Group has entered into a five year, multi-million dollar framework agreement to continue providing engineering and project management services to Saudi Aramco.

The deal is to become effective immediately and will involve onshore capital programmes in Saudi Arabia.

The agreement also comprises three one year extension options that will be delivered locally to the country.

Wood Group Asset Life Cycle Solutions business in the Eastern Hemisphere CEO Dave Stewart said: “This contract renewal demonstrates Wood Group’s proven technical and engineering capabilities in working with Saudi Aramco to deliver projects and modifications, automation and control, pipeline and industrial engineering over the last five years.

“Wood Group sees significant growth opportunities in the Saudi Arabian market, which is reflected in our continued investment in our people in the region, establishing a dedicated training facility and employing 750 people to support our business.

“We will use our strong asset knowledge and experience of working collaboratively with Saudi Aramco as we continue this contract, where our focus will remain on delivering technical solutions which meet their challenges and add value to their onshore portfolio in the region.”

Wood Group first won this contract to provide the engineering services in 2010.

Known as the General Engineering Service Plus (GES+) contract, the contract extension will be supported by Wood Group’s local office located in Al Khobar.

Wood Group previously secured an offshore maintain potential programme (OMP) contract with Saudi Aramco in 2015.

The deal involved providing greenfield and brownfield engineering services, procurement and construction management support in the new facilities situated in the Arabian Gulf.
