FI 3400-N is a paraffinic crystal modifier capable of reducing the pour point of crude and / or (heavy / residual fuel oils), which improves overall flow characteristics.
Advantages of FI 3400-N over other polymer based products is the fact that it can be applied at very low temperatures without any injection problems.
The use of FI 3400-N can result in cost savings via reduction in pumping energy, pipeline heating, pigging frequency, and solvent consumption. Restartability problems can also be avoided by using FI 3400-N.
Product description
FI 3400-N is a dispersion of an ethylene vinyl acetate co-polymer in a solvent mixture.
Physical properties
Appearance: viscous, milky liquid
Density, 20°C: approx. 0,930g/cm3
Viscosity, 20°C: < 900mPa.s
Flash Point: >100°C
Pour point: approx. -12°C
Solubility: in certain hydrocarbon solvents
Application
FI 3400-N was specially developed to improve the flow characteristics and pumpability of crude and / or fuel oil at low temperatures.
The required dosage of FI 3400-N for general flow improvement ranges from 100ppm to 2000ppm depending on the type and content of wax present in the oil. The exact dosage can be determined by laboratory testing.
Storage and handling
Although the FI 3400-N is a polymer based product it has a low pour point and can be handled at very low temperatures.
Ensure the area is well ventilated, keep away from sources of ignition, keep container tightly closed and store in cool area.
In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush with water for approximately 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
