Esders’ smart memo covers all aspects of pressure testing / Maximum compatibility for accessories and external sensors / Maximum connectivity for data traffic and documentation.
At gat/wat, Esders GmbH will be presenting its new mobile device for pressure testing of gas and water pipelines, the smart memo pressure measurement system. Compatible with a large number of intelligent external pressure sensors, it enables all pressure tests according to the German regulation DVGW G 469 and W 400 to be carried out with just one device. Users can equip the smart memo with the required software and sensors according to their individual requirements. Later necessary updates, functions and test sequences are simply downloaded online. LTE data transmission allows measurements to be transmitted by e-mail or to the cloud. The smart memo replaces the DruckTest Memo and DruckTest GT devices and weighs only 1.2kg, less than half of its predecessors.
“The smart memo is the pioneering device platform for all aspects of pressure testing on newly laid pipelines or for recurring tests, such as those that are common on containers or in industry,” says Managing Director Bernd Esders. By connecting many intelligent, interlinkable sensors, for example, temperature curves can be measured and documented in parallel via an earth spike and contact sensor. The operating time has been doubled. The new smart “Dynamic Pressure Test”-function automatically optimises pressure tests during the adjustment period, saving a considerable amount of time.
Weight and dimensions decrease, display grows Instead of sensors built into the device, the smart memo works with intelligent external sensors, which are then added to the device. The user thus gains flexibility and time,” adds Esders, “because in addition to weight and dimensions – the case fits flat on a DIN A5 sheet – maintenance costs are also reduced. Software updates and new functions and test sequences can be downloaded without having to send in the device. The Esders service can also access the smart memo via remote maintenance. With the integrated mobile technology, test reports including legally secure signatures can be transmitted quickly and error-free by e-mail or upload to the Esders Live Cloud. Location data can be automatically stored in the test report via GPS. The costs for the transmission of a test report are calculated transparently for each measurement and are below the previous costs for printouts with a printer. A paper document can also be printed using the Bluetooth interface.
The intuitively designed user interface consists of a combination of a large touch screen and mechanical function keys. Compared to its predecessor, the screen is 60% larger and has almost five times as many pixels. Users can call up and scroll through previous print sequences graphically via the display. The smart memo replaces the Esders devices DruckTest memo and DruckTest GT. “Both devices have been used successfully by our customers for many years. The smart memo marks a technical leap in evolution towards completely new functions and possibilities that the new pressure measurement system offers and will offer,” says Bernd Esders.
