Chevron to deliver LNG to China’s Jovo

Chevron USA has signed an agreement to deliver liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Singapore Carbon Hydrogen Energy’s subsidiary Jovo.

Chevron plans to deliver LNG from its global supply portfolio.

Once the LNG sale and purchase agreement is finalised, Jovo will receive up to 0.5 million tonnes of LNG per year for a period of five years.

The first LNG delivery is expected to take place in 2018.

Chevron midstream and development executive vice-president Mike Wirth said: “This agreement is another important step in the commercialisation of Chevron’s natural gas holdings.

“We are positioned to become one of the top ten LNG suppliers in the world.”

Chinese energy company Jovo’s LNG business portfolio includes a LNG receiving terminal, tank truck operations, urban pipelines for natural gas and automobile gas refilling stations.

In January this year, Chevron’s Australian subsidiaries have signed an agreement to supply LNG to ENN LNG Trading Company from its Gorgon natural gas project in Australia.

Upon finalisation of the deal, ENN will receive up to 0.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG over ten years, beginning 2018 or the first half of 2019.

Chevron Australia leads the development of the Gorgon and Wheatstone natural gas projects and manages its equal one-sixth interest in the north-west shelf venture.
