SitePro announces oil and gas project collaboration with Microsoft

Digital oilfield solutions provider SitePro has collaborated with Microsoft’s Azure Cosmos DB to provide real-time monitoring and alerts in the oil field.

Under the oil and gas project collaboration with Microsoft’s Azure Cosmos DB, along with Microsoft Power BI, SitePro will offer real-time data and system alerts to oil and gas operators.

Built from the ground up with a focus on global distribution and horizontal scale, Azure Cosmos DB scales and replicates user data, as well as provides turnkey global distribution across any number of Azure regions.

The collaboration is expected to increase runtimes, reduce costs and proactively manage environmental risks associated with leak and system failures.

With nearly instantaneous access to information, SitePro’s customers will be able to take immediate action to proactively address potential costly repairs before failure by identifying opportunities for improving operations.

SitePro president and co-CEO Aaron Phillips said: “One of our customers was able to detect, repair, and return to operational status with minimal operational disruption and zero impact to the environment. Hours, not days, can be the difference between an ecologic and economic disaster.”

The company noted that a customer who used the solution developed in collaboration with Microsoft realised an estimated $20m in labour savings a year.
