Aden Refinery Commences Trial Production

Yemen’s Aden refinery has begun its trial production after receiving 600,000 barrels of crude from Saudi Arabia.

The 150,000bpd refinery was shut for nearly two months following a blast that damaged the main oil pipeline from Marib.

An official told Reuters that the refinery will start normal production at one of its two units if the trial production goes well.

Each unit will have a capacity of 75,000bpd following a facility upgrade.

Yemen is expected to receive four more shipments of crude from Saudi Arabia, which has already donated three million barrels of oil to the country.
