Gazprom, Gasunie to Work on European Gas Infrastructure

Russia’s Gazprom and Dutch company Gasunie have signed a deal to develop a gas infrastructure across Europe.

The firms will cooperate in the areas of gas transmission infrastructure, underground gas storage and the construction of the Nord Stream gas pipeline to provide gas to Europe.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the firms will also look to expand cooperation on scientific and technological cooperation, LNG, environmental protection and energy efficiency.

Gazprom Management Committee chairman Alexey Miller said the partnership is essential to strengthen the positions of the companies as major players in the European gas market.

Gazprom and Gasunie will continue to cooperate within the framework of the initiative of Gazprom and the Project Delta Group, the International Gas Union (IGU), the European Business Congress (EBC) and other international forums related to gas business.
