Alfa Laval to supply heat exchangers for Algerian gas plant

Sweden-based Alfa Laval has secured an order to supply its OLMI heat exchangers to an Algerian gas compression plant.

The Alfa Laval OLMI heat exchangers will be used for natural gas cooling applications in a range of gas compression stations.

Valued at about Skr75m ($8.52m), the contract was booked in the Welded Heat Exchangers unit of the Energy Division.

Alfa Laval noted that the delivery of the heat exchangers is planned for next year.

Alfa Laval Energy Division president Susanne Pahlén Åklundh said: “I am very pleased to announce this order for our OLMI heat exchangers, booked late in September.

“These heat exchangers, which handle high pressure and temperatures, are both reliable and efficient.”

Earlier this month, Alfa Laval opened an Application & Innovation centre for fluid handling technology in Kolding, Denmark.

Last month, the company secured three orders to supply Framo pumping systems for three floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels to be built in China.

Alfa Laval is active in the energy, marine, and food and water sectors. It offers products and services across a wide range of industries in nearly 100 countries.

The company employs roughly 17,500 people. Its key technology areas include heat transfer, separation, and fluid handling.

Last year, Alfa Laval’s annual sales stood at about Skr46.5bn ($5.28bn).
