Martin Engineering Supplier of Bulk Materials Handling Products
Established in 1944, Martin Engineering is the leading international developer, manufacturer and supplier of innovations to make the handling of bulk materials cleaner, safer and more productive. The company offers technologies that boost flow, reduce dust and spillage, extend component life and reduce downtime, resulting in improved operating environments and increased profitability.
Bulk materials handling expertise
Martin Engineering has a global team of experts from every part of the world that work together to produce and manufacture high-quality products worthy of its seal of approval.
The company’s service technicians have extensive experience in bulk materials handling, and work side by side with sales leaders, product engineers and development teams to share innovative ideas and help to facilitate the development of new products. This experience and expertise has made Martin Engineering the leader in bulk materials handling solutions and has enabled the company to make bulk materials handling cleaner, safer and more productive globally.
Customer-specific bulk materials handling solutions
Martin Engineering has a reputation for high-quality products and skilled, dedicated employees. But more importantly, the company has a reputation for partnering with customers to develop solutions that best suit their problems and make their jobs easier. Its certified conveyor technicians are in the field working side by side with customers to see firsthand what the issues are and how best to provide solutions for their individual problems.
Because the company works so closely with its customers, Martin Engineering knows firsthand what the problems are, not just by industry but by individual plant. Its technicians then provide this information to the company’s product and development team, which works continuously to develop new technologies that enhance and improve current products. The team also thinks ahead to develop advanced technologies that provide new solutions for clients.
Developing strong relationships with our customers is the only way to maintain that knowledge base which continues to feed innovation in research and development and provides unique, practical solutions to age-old problems.
Vibrators and conveyor belt cleaners
Over the years, Martin Engineering has responded to new challenges in bulk materials handling with a number of products for a wide range of industries.
- In the 1950s, the Vibroller™ and Vibrotor™ vibrators were developed to provide high-frequency force for consolidating pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete
- In the 1960s, the Brute vibrator was the first motor-driven eccentric vibrator, providing powerful forces for unloading rail cars and large-scale vessels
- In the 1970s, the low-pressure pneumatic Air Cannon set a new world standard for the evacuation of material from large silos, bins and bunkers
- In the 1980s, the Trac-Mount™ belt cleaner became the first engineered conveyor belt cleaner to control carryback and improve conveyor efficiency; the Trac-Mount™ skirtboard seal also became the first engineered system to prevent spillage at conveyor loading zones
Dust management in material handling
Building on past successes, Martin Engineering turned its attention in the late 1980s to the prevention of spillage and dust at conveyor transfer points. The company developed systems to control fugitive material and improve conveyor efficiency. In addition, it developed in-field installation and service capabilities to help plants control the cost of ownership for bulk material handling operations.
More recently, Martin Engineering has added dust collection and dust suppression systems to provide a total solution to the problem of dust management in material handling operations. The company continues to expand its capabilities for engineered systems, including air-supported conveyors and custom-engineered chutes and a new design standard for conveyor architecture.
